Introduction
The information contained within these support pages are applicable only to web hosting services provided by QuantumJamm.
Web Hosting Account Information
Within your welcome e-mail, you will receive your username and password for FTP access.
The following are default access information about your account:
- Domain Name - this is the domain we have set up for you. The examples within this document will show 'www.yourdomain.com'
- FTP Address: ftp.yourdomain.com
- Default FTP directory: 'public_html' (this is where to place your .HTML or .PHP files to be visible on the Internet)
- Control Panel: www.yourdomain.com/cpanel
- Webmail: www.yourdomain.com/webmail
Control Panel
The control panel is the heart of your domain and contains various tools for e-mail accounts, web statistics, add-on scripts, MySQL database configuration, website backups and more. We do not back up your settings within the control panel and any changes you perform within it you do so at your own risk. The control panel is fairly intuitive and simple to use, feel free to explore and learn more about the extras your web hosting account provides.
Accessing the Control Panel
Functions such as setting up email accounts, forwarders, web statistics and more are located within your domain control panel.
To access your control panel, simply add 'cpanel' after your domain name.
Example: www.your-domain.com/cpanel

Telus DSL Internet Subscribers
Please note, if you are using Telus DSL Internet services, the default outgoing server setting may not work and you will need to change the outgoing server port number from '25' to '26'. Often port 25 is blocked by ISPs to control Virus outbreaks and Spam.
To Change Server Outgoing Port Number (Telus ISP clients)
- Within Internet Email Settings, click on 'More Settings' and select the 'Advanced' tab
- Change the outgoing server (SMTP) value to '26'
- Test the connection.
Contact us if you are having difficulty setting up your email account. Please provide your ISP (DSL/Cable) information and the error message you are getting.
Can I access my emails using a web browser?
Yes. You can access your e-mail accounts using your web browser (either Internet Explorer or FireFox) by going to your webmail account.
Simply add 'webmail' to the end of your domain and follow the instructions on the screen.
Example: www.yourdomain.com/webmail
